MULE 610 drives to the fore
Not just challenging for players, golf is also a demanding sport to preserve and present to the highest standards.
With the longest courses stretched over stunning yet demanding landscapes, the task of golf course maintenance is considerable – especially in light of harsh economic times and the closure of a number of only recently launched facilities.
According to Utility Product Manager for Kawasaki Motors UK, Simon Riches, there are a variety of ways that successful clubs remain popular, chief among them being able to keep membership and green fees at realistic levels; but how is this possible?
“A well run golf club is first and foremost a business and, like any business, staff headcount and productivity are key to success.
We have found that for a raft of small to medium sized clubs, the smallest of our MULE utility vehicles equipped with four wheel drive is finding favour. With budgets not stretching to a larger vehicle, the towing ability and go-anywhere nature of the 610 MULE means that maintenance can often be performed while play is in progress by using unseen but more demanding parts of the course hinterland.
Likewise, with a tipping load bed and a fuel frugal single cylinder CVT equipped engine, the little MULE can be out on course all day performing a variety of tasks and earning its keep from dawn to dusk. Of course, the practicalities of an automotive driving position, ROPS security and enclosed cab options represent a great mixture of safety and convenience”.
Added to the much vaunted features, Riches is also keen to highlight the fact that, when conditions allow, the light footed MULE 610 can also traverse the most carefully manicured playing surfaces without inflicting damage.
